Separated Bike Lanes

I have very mixed feelings about this issue. My specific concerns are about curb cuts at driveways and businesses and the assumption by drivers, once these bike lanes are constructed, that cyclists don't have a right to the roadway and that we should be limited to these bike lanes. I will continue to ride my bike from where I am to where I need to go no matter how the road is redesigned. A painted bike lane is, at least, a reminder to other road users that we have every right to be there. Here is an alternate view using NYC as a model.
