Velocipede – Maker Unknown 1871 – 1872 An unusual transitional Velocipede incorporating an “open head” style head set with adjustable head bearing. This machine also uses longer spring mounted forward of the head to suspend the rider. It also incorporates a pronounced mounting step which allows the rider to vault into the saddle. It is currently thought that this bike is of English origins.
