elocipede - Calvin Whitty 1868
This Machine was built upon the original Lallement patent of 1866 in New York City by Calvin Whitty, a carriage maker. Whitty for a time owned the Lallement patent – a patent for the application of offset cranks to a Velocipedes front wheel. This frame design is known as the “Serpentine Style”. It is the earliest style of Velocipede.
