Victor Model “C” Cushion Tire 1891

Victor Model “C” Cushion Tire 1891 This early safety bicycle employs an unusual spring suspension fork. It has cushion tires, a form of hollow rubber tubing, which was the forerunner to the pneumatic tire. A similar machine was used by American wheelman Frank Lenz on his ill fated world tour of 1892. 3/4s of the way to completion Lenz disappeared in eastern Turkey, in what is now known as Kurdistan.
