Kids Bike Bonanza at New American Safety Day

BO·NAN·ZA
noun
1.) a situation or event that creates a sudden increase in wealth, good fortune, or profits, or
2.) a large amount of something desirable

Old Spokes Home held our second-ever Kids Bike Bonanza on Saturday in concert with New American Safety Day (learn about our first ever Kids Bike Bonanza here).

New American Safety day offered free swimming lessons, car seat safety checks, helmets, snacks, toys, and oodles of information to families who have recently immigrated to Vermont.

We had a stellar Bonanza thanks to dozens of event volunteers and volunteer mechanics at our Community Workshop. It doesn't get much better than getting little kids on bikes. It took us only 90 minutes to run out of bikes. 38 children left very, very happy. Here are some of them:

We'd like to share a big thank you with the organizers of New American Safety Day. We can't wait to come back next year -- this time, with twice as many bikes.

Old Spokes Home is able to hold two Kids Bike Bonanzas each year thanks to the generous support of our community. You can support getting more kids on bikes by shopping with us, making a bicycle donation, or giving a gift:
