New American Safety Day 2019

Last Saturday was New American Safety Day, where we sent 40 happy kids home with their first bikes.

Our friends at the New American Pediatric Clinic at UVM Medical Center organized the event, which provided free swimming lessons, car seat safety checks, bikes, helmets, snacks, toys, and oodles of information to families who have recently immigrated to Vermont.

For the third year in a row, we had a beautiful weather out on the lawn of Winooski High School, which provided a good opportunity for some first-ever bike rides!

As always, all this goodness wouldn't be possible with our hardworking event volunteers and volunteer mechanics. We also want to shout out AALV, who had interpreters there who were hugely helpful.

If you want to support more stuff like this, you can help out by donating to Old Spokes Home.
