KIDS BIKE BONANZA
Over the next few weeks, we'll need all the help we can get to prepare for the 2018 Holiday Kids Bike Bonanza, an event where we will give away 150 kids bikes.
We've got a lot of kids bikes, and they aren't going to refurbish themselves. Our mechanics have been hard at work, but we need your help to prepare the bikes by December 20th (the day of the Bonanza). To that end, we're encouraging you to come to two special Tuesday Volunteer Nights. Minimal mechanical experience necessary and no orientation required.
If bike mechanics aren't your forte but you still want to get involved, we will also need day-of volunteers on the night of December 20th to help kids and their families find and size their bikes.
Volunteers are the driving force behind our work -- namely, the Everybody Bikes program and Youth Shop. They organize rides, help teach workshops, work at our events and do so much to help create access to the joy of bicycling for everyone in our community.
Come by the Community Workshop for a quick tour, to learn about everything that Old Spokes Homes does, the perks of volunteering, and how you can get involved.
DROP-IN VOLUNTEER EVENTS
After you've completed a volunteer orientation, you're welcome to volunteer at the Community Workshop on Tuesday nights between 5pm and 8pm. There's some bike fixing going on and tons of organizing, moving bikes, cleaning, and other projects. We put on music, talk about weird stuff, and have a good time. Join us.
