Cranksgiving — a food drive on two wheels

Join us on November 18th for Old Spokes Home's third annual Cranksgiving! We'll be using our bicycles to help feed our neighbors in need on Thanksgiving.

Visit the checkpoints, shop the list, and donate food!

In the style of an alleycat race, Cranksgiving is a ride with no official route. Rather, riders are given a 'manifest,' or list of checkpoints, and must figure out their own way. Each checkpoint on Cranksgiving is a food store; at each store, riders are asked to buy at least one food item to be donated to Feeding Chittenden. Participants are asked to keep their receipts; at the finish, we'll check them to make sure they completed the whole manifest!

Our Cranksgiving centers participation and fun over competition and is totally family-friendly — but if you want to race, no one's stopping you! We'll have some prizes to give away, but probably not for a standard podium of the fastest folks. You're more likely to 'win' by donating the most food, wearing a kooky costume, donating a couple (un-crushed) pies, or being the last to finish!

Registration is free and onsite, day-of only. Plan to spend at least $15 to complete the manifest, or as much as you are willing to donate to Feeding Chittenden. Bring your bike, a lock, and a way to carry cargo.
